Job Description:

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Senior/Lead User Experience Designer for a leading software development company. You'll work in a technical environment with clients and developers and have responsibility to ensure usability and accessibility. You'll be responsible for researching, creating and developing concepts and wireframes for multi-form factor (including Smart Phones, tablets and wearables) application design.

Initial contract basis with excellent chance of permanency. This role would suit an established Senior or Lead UX Designer who want to take the next step in their career.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Designs and may lead interactive and interface design solutions for screen-based software applications and systems
  • Stays current and proficient in advanced user-centered design techniques and methodologies
  • Plans, validates, and implements research methods to test interactive and interface design data
  • Leads in the development of personas and journey maps
  • Analyses, evaluates, describes, and reports results to stakeholders
  • Problem-solves for work flows as well as information architecture and drives innovation
  • Collaborates with management, development teams and clients to ensure product success
  • Designs, develop and implements changes to products or services to improve design
  • Learns technical environment to balance user, stakeholder and technical needs.
  • Leads a UX team for larger complex projects
  • Contributes to proposal responses and business development.
  • Contributes to interactive design pattern library such as Axure, Balsamiq or iRise templates
  • May represent the UX capability to clients and present solutions at oral presentations
  • Contributes to building the UX capability
  • Strong consulting and relationship management skills
  • Mentors and cross-trains with central UX team

Skills & Experience Required:

Education and Experience -

  • 6-10 years' experience in user experience design field
  • Experience with responsive web, mobile and desktop formats
  • Portfolio of examples required

Knowledge and Skills -

  • Deep experience with user experience design for multiple clients
  • Strong analytical and creative problem solving skills
  • Deep understanding of research and design activities and techniques
  • Enjoys advisory and consulting engagements; working with ambiguity
  • Strong writing and verbal skills
  • Ability to effectively communicate and sell the value of UX
  • Proficient in interaction tools such as Axure, Balsamiq or iRise
  • Working knowledge of design and UI development tools (Creative Suite, CSS, HTML5) (willingness to quickly grasp the UWP apps design approach)
  • Understanding of technologies to solution an effective user experience
  • Ability to travel sporadically to client sites
